Why Pick Color Signs For Your Advertisements?
To add chutzpah and spice to the otherwise boring sign posts, bright colored signs are a treat to the eyes. You may be using a variety of signs to promote your product, service or an event but local competition has increased which makes it imperative to stand out from the rest. Vinyl full color banners and signs are low cost but effective ways of promoting a clearance sale, announcements, promotional ventures and tradeshows as the informative yet alluring signs can increase footfalls. However, just putting on any color or mixing three or four different colors don't really make sense. You need to contrasting colors on the full color signs to make then readable from a distance. Most people prefer looking at a tastefully done banner of sign that has complementing yet contrasting color scheme, clear graphics and easy to read slogans. The thumb rule for all advertising color signs that are placed on highways or on mobile billboards is to use 7-word slogans. This is because from a moving vehicle, you have only 20-30 seconds to see, read and comprehend the advertisement. Thee are numerous different types of signs and banners such as the low cost sidewalk signs, vinyl banners, window graphics and many others that are in demand. Better ink technology and large format digital printers have ushered in a new wave of better printing technology and the most benefited are signage dealers.
If you are planning on having a bunch of color signs and vinyl banners for advertising in town, just check with the local signage suppliers. Most of them have ready to hand signs and can even design a whole range customized for your business. Put them anywhere you like or are legally permitted. Vinyl banners are weather resistant and do not fade in sunlight so they are apt for outdoor advertising. Hang it from the building or just pin it up inside your store, the message is conveyed loud and clear. Keep the graphics to a minimum and the color combinations not more than 3 colors and you have the perfect color sign.
Banners are easy to store and reuse, so if you have more than on sale a year, you can easily use them again or if you are a regular trade show participant, taking your banners across cities is never an issue. The colorful lettering and low maintenance banners are perfect to store, use and carry away. However, if you have a bigger budget, going in for digital color signs and mobile billboards can do wonders for your marketing campaign.
The most preferred colors are light bases such as white, yellow and other pastel shades that can easily contrast bright colors. So, if you need to fix the colors on your signs, select the ones that have a high contrast. Black on yellow or yellow on black works perfectly. Other color signs that are popularly used have purple on white or white on red. Any color that stands out from a distance will work well for your full color sign campaign.

Advice on equipment needed to produce vinyl signs?
A company I work with has decided that it would like to invest in a cutter/plotter and other equipment needed to produce vinyl signage (4x4 like large real estate signs).
Can anyone advise me on what all they will need to purchase? What are the best brands and software? Any tricks of the trade I should know about?
We have a cutter that works off of a vector based system. I'm not directly in charge of it but can get a little more info for you if no one else is forth coming. (email me from 360 if you wish)
We were disappointed that ours didn't work with Autocad (we were told it was vector based and thought it would). We have to use its chintzy program or Corel. I'd be sure to ask about what software it is compatible with and also what media types are available (are they all heat based or sticky-back)
